So this is our opening post and I know nothing about photography or websites or blogs or you or much of anything else except printing (and music). As I can I will be adding posts about the projects that have come through our shop. The following is the first for no particular reason.

A client recently came to us wanting their business cards on 100% recycled stock. Nothing new here but they wanted a darker recycled paper even though their logo had white in it. Since opaque white really isn’t so opaque with offset printing, we opted to emulate a darker color paper by mixing a custom ink and using a white recycled sheet. They liked French Paper Speckletone Old Green (which is only available in a light-weight 80# cover). So we used 100# Speckletone True White, which contains a lot of obvious flecks in it, started with Pantone 454 and slowly worked our way to the Old Green flavor they wanted.

Details: 1200 total business cards [300 cards each for 4 employees] on 100# French Speckletone True White Cover printed 3/2 – Pantone Black 3, Pantone 314 and a custom match/Pantone 314 and varnish. The cards were then die cut round cornered 4up. Total cost $700.
